For the German developer Florian Seida, the weekend started with good news: According to his own statement, he is one of the winners of Apple’s Swift Student Challenge. He was successful with an app called Swimpath, which conveys the learning to swim step by step in 3D animations and also relies on augmented reality.
For the southern German it is even the second time he is on the virtual podium, he wrote in a first reaction to X. To be awarded by Apple as a talented young developer is probably good for itself in the résumé. On top of that, there is a free one -year membership in Apple’s developer program and Airpods Max as a profit. Selected 50 of the 350 winners are also invited to California at the start of the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) and spend three days in the Apple headquarters in Cupertino.
Also successful newcomers
On Thursday it was swarming with posts on Thursday, where participants in the Challenge reported their result. Some, such as Kunal Phalak, started to learn the Apple programming language Swift and Swift UI just a few months ago. For him, his “Relay” app was also enough for the winning podium. The app is intended to help improve emotional intelligence.
In February, Apple’s annual programming competition went into the hot phase. The WWDC forms the ceremonial conclusion and for many of the pupils and students who participate, is a declared dream destination that you can visit. The conference will take place this year from June 9th to 13th.
Other developers still have to wait
Participants from Germany had to be at least 16 years old, Swiss at least 18 and Austrians at least 14 years old. It was also a prerequisite that the participants either attended an accredited educational institution, were enrolled in an educational program of a MINT organization or acquired the Abitur or a similar school leaving certificate within the past six months.
All other developers who have registered to be personally in Cupertino still have to be patient. Apple will only notify the selected participants at the beginning of April.
