In a blog post, Meta presented new functions for chats, calls and channels for the Messenger WhatsApp. Video calls and group chats particularly gain functions.
With an advertisement on how many people are online in a group chat, it becomes visible at a glance how active the group is. The notifications are often increasing, especially in large group chats, and these can now be adjusted more precisely. The new setting ″ highlights ″ only notifies when it comes to a direct mention, news of contacts or answers to your own news – this can be a blessing, especially for large group chats. Reactions can now be answered faster on messages to express approval or rejection.
EU forces Apple
With the current iOS update as a standard app for messages and calls, WhatsApp can be set up on iPhones after Apple unlocked this function on the EU. Digitizing documents is also easier. They can now be scanned and tailored directly from the app with iPhones.
The video call starts, but the person is far from the camera? No problem, because in video calls can now be zoomed into the image of the other person with a two-finger gesture. If a call has to be expanded spontaneously, another person can now be added to call with a click in the text chat. Video calls should also run significantly more stable and with fewer interruptions due to a technical upgrade in the background. And if the bandwidth is not sufficient, the change to a lower resolution should be done smoothly.
