After a long wait, Meta now has an iPad version of WhatsApp Published in the App Store. One and a half years have passed since the first beta version for the iPad, which gave users to the Messenger app in September. A year earlier, Meta had announced for the first time to plan something for the iPad. The rumors that Meta is planning a variant for the tablet, however, go back much further.
The publication had recently emerged when the official WhatsApp account on X was answered with a strange answer to the question of a release. The desire for an iPad version of Instagram remains open.
WhatsApp for the iPad has the complete range of functions of the iPhone variant. It is possible to align video and audio calls with up to 32 people, share the screen and use both the front camera and the back camera.
Multitasking on the iPad
An advantage of the iPad variant is to iOS that multitasking is also possible. With the iPad functions Stage Manager, Split View and Slide Over, several apps can be opened at the same time. In this way, for example, users can open the messenger and the browser at the same time.
WhatsApp for the iPad synchronizes content with the iPhone, the Mac and other devices. According to Meta, personal news, calls and media are protected with end-to-end encryption. Additional data protection functions such as the chat lock ensure that confidential conversations can be managed, even if you share the iPad with others.
