Warner Bros. Discovery announced that it is considering proposals for its purchase

Media giant Warner Bros. Discovery officially announced, that it is already considering and discussing proposals for the full or partial acquisition of the company by a third party, and there is definitely no shortage of candidates in this direction.

As we told you about a month ago, the recently formed Paramount Skydance alliance is considering the possibility of acquiring Warner Bros. Discovery in order to position itself even better in both the streaming and television markets.

However, two proposals from Paramount have already been rejected. The first was worth $20 per share, defined as “too low,” and the second $24, which included a cash payment, with no options for additional shares after the merger.

Earlier this year, it officially became clear that Warner Bros. Discovery would split in two. One company will be responsible for the film and streaming business, while the other for the TV channels that are part of the giant’s portfolio.

Other serious players in the entertainment industry are expected to take part in the bidding. According to sources familiar with the matter, Warner is trying to lure Netflix, Amazon and Apple are also in the race, which will certainly raise the potential purchase price enormously.

Since the news broke, Warner Bros. Discovery shares have risen 10% and are now trading for more than $20, and its market captainization has reached $50 billion.
