Along with the new Vision Pro with M5 chip, Apple has also announced the release of new third-party accessories. Both were already known, but were either not yet available or only in a package with hardware that is unnecessary for owners of the headset.
Muse with prize
Logitech’s Muse stylus, which was already introduced in the summer, now has an official availability date. In the Apple Online Store, the hardware can be downloaded Pre-order now, will be delivered from 22 October, with availability via Apple’s Stores. Apple describes the $140 device as follows: “Logitech Muse is a spatial accessory designed to help you work, create, and collaborate better with Apple Vision Pro.”
In practice, this means that you should be able to work with the pen in CAD programs, among other things. The creation of 3D models should be more accurate and easier than purely with finger or hand tracking. The Muse offers six degrees of freedom, has integrated buttons and haptic feedback – and even a pressure-sensitive tip. It remains unclear which apps are supported by the pen and whether they need to be specially adapted. The Vision Pro is already used a lot in the industrial sector due to its high image quality, even in pass-through mode.
Gaming with Sony
Furthermore, Apple has announced that Sony will soon sell its VR controllers of the Sense series for the Vision Pro as well. These are intended to enable finer control of VR games. The problem so far: Sony has so far only sold the two-pack for left and right in a package with the headset – for just under 430 euros. In the future, the two controllers with charger (“Controller Charging Station”) will also be sold via the Apple (Online) Store. So far, only one price for North America has been mentioned: 250 US dollars. They are to be available from November 11, but it is still unclear when Europe will follow.
Apple had already announced a new headband for the Vision Pro 2 itself, which promises more wearing comfort. A competitor to the same from the medical technology manufacturer ResMed is now also available again, but so far only via Apple’s American stores.
