Apple is apparently about to start the second generation of the Vision Pro. At least one portal from China claims. According to sources from the area of the Apple supply chain, central components such as the main board, display panels and housings for mass production should already be prepared for mass production, How Ithome writes. However, the portal, however, relies on reports.
Does the Vision Pro remain a luxury goods?
The Vision Pro came onto the market for the first time in the United States in February 2024, and internationalization followed in summer with the start of sales in Germany. Since winter there have been rumors that the production of the current model has been set because Apple has sufficient quantities in stock. The basic problem: Although the headset was rated technically well to very well, with entry prices from 4,000 euros, the shopping hurdle is still high.
Vision Pro 2 is expected to become cheaper – how much, but is unclear. Alternatively, it would also be conceivable that Apple improves the hardware-for example with a faster M4 SoC-but does not change the price. If that were the case, the group would have to be asked how sensible this strategy is with a luxury product. In addition to internal improvements, there could also be a somewhat improved design. The Pro vision is still plenty of difficult and also means that a batteryet led on the cable is covered with it.
Inspiration for other headsets
Interestingly, several Apple’s designed design were inspired – including Samsung and The Chinese company Vivo. Google’s Android-XR operating system also contains bonds of the Vision-Pro operating system Visionos. The reason seems to be that Apple’s form factor allows very powerful headsets, whereby this is significantly more impractical in the use of devices with a built -in battery such as the Meta Quest 3.
Ithome writes that a delivery of the Vision Pro 2 can be expected this year. Analysts like Ming-Chi Kuo or Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman had typed on appointments between autumn 2025 and spring 2026.
