Sometimes I don't want to say Siri orally because I am in busy places like in the tram. Can you also write siri?
Yes, that works with a little preparation. First open the dialog “Siri inquiries” and activate the slide under MacOS “System Settings> General> General> Siri”.
In the same window you then go to “Siri settings …” below and can set a shortkey under “Adjust” keyboard command “, such as option + Ü.
Whenever you press this key combination, a window appears at the top right of the desktop where you can type your question.
On the iPhone or iPad you have to activate “Siri inquiries” at the same point in the system settings, but you have no selection in the key combination.
Depending on the device, you hold the top or side button down until the input field appears. At the end of a siri request, don't forget to send it with returns.
Incidentally, the Siri text input with Apple Intelligence is available without having to switch it on.
This already applies to the current MacOS, for iOS/iPados from version 18.4 – and then also in German.
