Tip: Secure emails under iOS and iPados as PDF

Sometimes I get invoices by email without an attached PDF document. How can I save the mail content with my iPad or iPhone as a PDF file in the iCloud Drive?

Unfortunately, the mobile mail app has always been missing the otherwise available partial function. However, you can help yourself with the print command. As with the Mac, an expression can also be saved as a PDF.

In the case of the in question, tap the answer button (referring to the left) to open a menu. Call the print dialogue using the “Print” command (quite at the end of the menu).

Then open the parts menu at the top of the dialog (symbol with an arrow from a square upwards). Then select “Secure” in files or pass the PDF on to a desired app such as Goodreader or Acrobat.

When saving, you still have to select the target folder and confirm the process with “secure” in the upper right corner of the window.

If the format of the PDFS does not promise you, you can choose a two-column landscape display (“Pages per sheet = 2”) in the print dialog, for example via the “Layout” option, which also reduces the font size.

Unfortunately, you have no influence on font and side edges.
