I powers Linux installed on an old Mac. The recommended tool for writing the necessary USB stick only works from MacOS 10.15 Catalina, which no longer runs on my MacBook Pro.
That’s correct. Older versions such as the MacOS 10.11 EL Capitan on your computer can no longer use a current Balenaeter. But what do you then create the installation medium?
The answer is simple: with an older version of the tool, this is still possible.
Because Balenaethers have been around for a long time. Accordingly, older versions also work on previous MacOS systems.
Fortunately, the makers provide them. An archive of all versions ever published can be found in the “Releases” area on the Github page of the project. Version 1.18.11 should be the last one that still works with OS X 10.11. The download is possible here.
