I have been using a Cherry keyboard on my Mac for a long time. Only now has I noticed that the keys ^ and When you connect an unknown keyboard for the first time, a facility assistant appears once that helps to detect the keyboard arrangement. You may have made an error. Unfortunately, you cannot just call the assistant again. Therefore, delete the “/library/preferences/com.apple.keyboardtype.plist.plist” file in the Library folder of the main level so that MacOS forgets the keyboards previously furnished. Then restart your Mac directly and separate the keyboard from the Mac. Plug them again as soon as the login screen is visible. Now the keyboard assistant should appear automatically with which you can set up your keyboard. As prompted, press the button on the right of the left Shift button, so usually <. In the following step, select the "ISO (International)" option in the following step. Now MacOS knows what kind of keyboard you use. If the assistant does not appear automatically, you can also start it manually. Open the “System/Library/CoreServices/” folder and start the “Keyboardsetupassistant.App” app. However, you only get a window to see if MacOS has not yet assigned the keyboard. In our experiments with a keychronic keyboard, we had to play the process described twice by deleting the file until the keyboard layout of MacOS was correctly recognized.
