Tip: copy or move files via shortcut

I recently switched to the Mac and have been looking for a totally simple function since then: In Windows Explorer, I was able to move files with a few keys. On the Mac, this only seems to work with the mouse.

You can also use the keyboard to move files on the Mac. There it even works very similarly to Windows, but with other key combinations.

While removing the files in the Explorer with CTRL + X from the source directory and inserting the target directory by Ctrl + V, use the Finder Command + C to first copy the files into the clipboard.

You then have two options in the target directory: With option + command + V, move the intermediate files there.

Command + V (without option) copies it into the new directory without deleting it from the source directory.

Alternatively, you can use the tool Supercharge (Full version 21.42 US dollars) imitate the behavior of Windows with Command + X and Command + V.
