Tip: Change the language of the Apple Watch

My Apple Watch is suddenly no longer set in German, but in English. My iPhone continues in German. In the Watch settings, I don’t find where I can change the language again.

In fact, this attitude is not available in Watchos. Under “Settings> General” or “Settings> General”, the expected entry for “Language & Region” (“Language & region”) is simply missing.

Watchos 26 is also likely to change this.

However, you can change the language of the watch on the iPhone. Open the watch app there. Under “My Watch” you tap “General> Language & Region” and switch back to “Main my iPhone” at the top of “own”.

Alternatively, in the “Preferred Languages” section, you pull your preferred language up to the right of the three horizontal lines.

It can take a moment for the watch to take on its language setting, sometimes the display is black for a short time.

Among other things, the apparently inexplicable language change in Watchos can occur if you temporarily put the iPhone on another language.

The watch also adapts. If this is or is on the charging puck if you put the iPhone back in German, the watch does not automatically change again.
