Third developer betas for iOS 26 and MacOS 26: Apple derogation ui even more

Apple presented the third developer version of its new operating systems on Monday evening. In iOS 26, Ipados 26 and MacOS 26 Developer Beta 3: The new “Liquid Glass” interface is further mitigated by Apple. This makes the user interface less “beautiful”, but much more readable. To describe it with a metaphor: Window glass gradually becomes frosted glass, where there is little to see from what is under an area.

Strangely enough, however, this does not apply to all apps. The transparency in the photo application is even stronger, while the icon bar in podcasts or Apple Music can now be read better because it has become opaque. It is still possible to further reduce the transparency by setting in the operating aids if Apple’s adjustments are not yet sufficient with regard to readability.

Otherwise, Apple has also further optimized the control center, which is very difficult to see at the beginning. The work was made on the icon colors so that they are easier to recognize. Apple also provides new background images under iOS, IPADOS and MacOS. For MacOS 26 (TAHOE), the group has even selected a new standard picture, a scene from the mountain lake of the same name in California, which is also animated.

The stability has been partially improved, sometimes it has improved. For example, MacOS 26 Developer Beta 3 showed graphic errors in a virtual machine that even leads to freezing apps (such as weather), which we did not know from Beta 2. However, native installations are not affected. At first, Apple had difficulty delivering the new MacOS beta to users of Apple-Silicon-Macs, the beta simply did not appear. In the meantime, however, this has chilled.

Ipados 26 allows the optional cursor to be briefly greater by wobbling and under macOS, and you can no longer wipe up between full screen and window apps and no longer sleep in an external screens if you are in a video call. Interface improvements are also available in Safari on the iPhone. Finally, Apple Maps in iOS 26 shows a new search function in the code, which is not yet released: in the future it should be possible to make input in natural language (“show me the best bakery with WLAN in the area”). Offline cards now also know warnings of fog.

At the moment it is still unclear when Apple is the first Public betas provides its new operating systems. That should happen this month.
