The iPhone 17 Pro has the best video camera but not for photos

DXOMARK has published its tests on the iPhone 17 Pro camera, in which Apple’s new flagship has received a total score of 168 points. With this, the model comes in third place in the site ranking, evaluating photo and video capabilities of the devices. On the other hand, the evaluation of video skills of the smartphone put it first.

The Dxomark test shows “Preliminary results”, with the full smartphone report being published. Whether a change in the assessment is expected – it is not quite clear.

However, it turns out that the iPhone 17 Pro has the third best camera in a smartphone in the world at the moment, with only the Oppo Find X8 Ultra and the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra leader.

Experts on the French site comment that the Apple flagship offers precise exposure and a wide dynamic range, even in low light, achieves pleasant colors and natural white balance in most conditions, retains high levels of detail in zoom, provides a smooth approximation and change between the different chambers, and the bucket effect.

The disadvantages have a slight instability in the focus and balance of white in moving objects in video and slight noise in indoor or low lights.

The interesting thing is that the iPhone 17 Pro is the best video recording smartphone, reaching as much as 171 points – 5 more than the next in the iPhone 16 Pro Max, Huawei Pura 80 Ultra and Oppo Find X8 Ultra ranking. They all have 166 points each.
