Stroglos: Charging stand for Airpods Max and other AirPods

In the meantime, almost all Apple mobile devices can also be recharged wirelessly on request, be it an iPhone via Magsafe or Airpods plug and Apple Watch via Ladepuck. However, the function is missing for the Airpods Max, Apple’s expensive over-ear headphones. They have been equipped for the first time since last year with a USB-C charging function (instead of a proprietary Lightning connection), but Apple has not installed an inductive power supply. Instead, you can load the devices with a stripping, the plugs of which, if the Airpods Max are in their shell, has to be more than badly fueled into the socket. The long-standing Apple accessory provider Mophie, a subsidiary of ZAGG, now has a solution here that you ask yourself why it has only now appeared: a charging stand especially for the Apple-over ears, which can also supply a second device with electricity.

The Airpods Max Charging stand Has two silicone inserts into which the ear cups fit exactly. Instead of working with an extended plug-which would have been easier-Mophie uses a USB-C dongle to be put into the USB-C socket of the Airpods Max.

This is magnetic and ensures that the headphones are always correctly placed over the loading pins. The dongle is flat according to the pictures published by Mophie, but is likely to stand out due to its dark color depending on the Airpods-Max variant.

It is useful that the Airpods Max switch to sleep mode immediately after laying on, so do not consume electricity unnecessarily. The sleep mode also becomes active when you put the Airpods Max into their shell. In addition to the Airpods-Max charging function, the Airpods Max Charging has a second function: there is a Qi-capable loading mat below. This can be used, for example, for the simultaneous shop of regular AirPods plugs with wireless charging cases-whether other devices such as cell phones can be found enough and Apple watches can also be loaded, initially remained unclear.

Mophie also does not provide any information as to whether the Airpods Max Charging stood with its own power supply or requires a USB-C power supply. A cable seems to be behind. Mophie wants a whole rod for the Airpods-Max loaders: the device made of aluminum and silicone is in the price list with 139.95 euros. There is currently a 5 euro discount, according to Germany you don’t pay anything for postage.
