Spotify extends the scope for users of the free version. From now on, users would have more control over what they want to hear, the streaming provider said on Monday.
Recently, users of the free subscription can click and hear any song. You can find songs via the search function, listen to and share them immediately. Another feature that was previously only withheld from paying customers is to create playlists. Even without paying, you can create playlists and add songs. An algorithm then proposes other songs that could correspond to the taste of the respective person.
Through photos, colors, texts or graphic elements, playlist cover can now also be designed. It doesn’t matter whether the customer uses iOS or Android. According to Spotify You have to click on the three points in your own playlist and then click on the “Create cover” option. However, only one cover can be created per playlist, each additional replaces the previous one.
Features adapt to the preferences of the users
Another new feature is called “Daylist”. These lists record at the times of the day or weekdays of the users which kind of music hears. It updates itself independently and adapts to the preferences of the users. If, for example, users are looking for songs that fit their mood in early sports, for example, the daylist suggests something to them. Daylists can also be saved and copied.
In the new playlist “Discover Weekly” there are a weekly proposed song recommendations that are based on the hearing habits. The “Release Radar” also shows the latest tracks of artists who follow the customers.
There are also changes in the lyrics. If you hear a song with available lyrics, you can wipe up from the bottom of the “current reproduction” view to display the lyrics. This runs during the reproduction of the song. Song texts can also be shared by the app.
