So Ultra is Apple CarPlay | Mac & i-podcast

What was Ferrari at the start of CarPlay 1 over 10 years ago is now Aston Martin: CarPlay Ultra made his debut at the British sports car manufacturer. The new generation of iPhone autointegration can shake off the vaporware status, but it remains miles away from the mass market. Handproof announcements for the introduction of CarPlay Ultra in other vehicle models remain none, large vehicle manufacturers were not very euphoric.

In Episode 98, Malte Kirchner and Leo Becker explain how CarPlay Ultra stands out from the “normal” CarPlay and which tricks Apple has to use so that the CarPlay interface can cover the entire instrument cluster. We discuss the deeper vehicle integration, restrictions on apps, missing elements and why Siri is also a huge problem here. We also deal with the reluctance of vehicle manufacturers compared to CarPlay Ultra and why Apple – unlike Android Automotive – does not build an operating system for cars.

The Mac & I Apple Podcast appears with the moderator duo Malte Kirchner and Leo Becker in the two-week rhythm and can be used via RSS feed (Audio Or video) Subscribe to each podcast app of choice-from Apple Podcasts to Overcast to Pocket Casts.
