Report: Apple’s foldable such as “Two iPhone Airs side by side”

Apple is supposedly oriented towards the upcoming iPhone foldable on the iPhone Air. This is reported by the usually well-informed Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman in his Newsletter from Sunday. According to the information, he “increasingly” obtained the information that users “two iPhone-air models from Titan side by side”-in English: “Side-by-side”-would have to introduce themselves. “In other words, it will be super thin and a designer.”

If the information is correct, the iPhone foldable would be thicker than the competition: at the thinnest point it is the iPhone Air 5.64 mm thick, while the current Galaxy Z Fold7 Packed 4.2 mm (outside camera area) by Samsung. However, it can be assumed that Apple also designs the air design for its foldable cell phone, after all, there is more volume for the installation of battery and other components.

Gurman continues that the foldable iPhone will be the “star” in Apple’s product lineup for 2026. The work on it in Cupertino and the suppliers and manufacturing companies worldwide continues. Production should not only take place in India, but also at Foxconn in China. Apple may once again divide the production, supplies the United States from India in order to avoid tariffs to Chinese goods if necessary.

At the price, Apple is likely to get a lot: Gurman believes in prices of “at least” $ 2000, which could mean 2450 euros in Europe. With more memory, the foldable iPhone could climb to $ 2600, in Europe the 3000 euro mark in the top model. “It will also be ridiculously expensive compared to previous iPhones,” writes Gurman.

With regard to the availability, Gurman mentions the usual iPhone autumn date-that would be September 2026. The iPhone foldable should have a particularly smooth screen without visible folds and particularly stable mechanics-including hinge/folding mechanism. Even the iPhone Air is considered very stable and break-proof thanks to the titanium structure-despite the enormous thinness for iPhone.
