Apple’s next iPhone operating system iOS 26 not only gets a completely new look, but also innovations in many smaller areas. This also includes the ring tones, as testers of the latest beta versions (public beta 3 and developer beta 6) have found. At least seven new call alarms are added, the Apple itself had composed. It was already known that iOS 26 makes it much easier to convert your own sounds and pieces of music into ringing tones.
Six additional variants of “Reflection”
The Alarm sound “Reflection” Apple has been in the repertoire for years. It is a bell-play-like sound with Hall effect, which is well heard and recognizable. He apparently seems to have liked the Apple team so much that the sound engineers Six other variants composed have. Among other things, there is a Dreampop variant, a version with classic instruments, a pop remix and even a dance version. This should actually be covered by any “reflection” fans.
However, it is completely new “Little Bird”. The ringtone can be recognized immediately as an Apple sound, combines an EDM bass run with a whistled melody, which, however, also has slight referrers to “reflection”. It is still unclear whether Apple will really place all eight new sounds in the final version of iOS 26 – it may also be that it is only an attempt. It is useful that the “reflection” variants in the system settings are all sorted below “Reflection”, so you can switch briskly between the old standard tone (“default”) and the new mixes.
It doesn’t always have to be Apple
Furthermore, in iOS 26 it is now possible to get much easier to get your ringing tones. If you had to deal with a garage band and the like before, there is now a separate button in the “share” dialogue, which significantly simplifies export. For example, an MP3 file can be called up via the files app via iCloud and the sound or piece of music there can be transferred directly into the settings as the ringtone.
The new procedure is also possible in language memos and several other apps. Exported ring tones appear in the settings of the iPhone on the corresponding page at the top of the list. They can be removed again at any time by swiping. Unencrypted standard formats such as MP3, WAV or M4A are supported. iOS 26 probably appears in mid -September. One is currently running Beta-phase.
