The accessory manufacturer Ugreen has presented the “first Qi2.2-certified power bank” worldwide “. With this battery pack, devices should be charged wirelessly with an output of up to 25 watts – if they support it.
Magnetic power bank with “Qi2 25W”
So far, the wireless charging standard Qi2 supported up to 15 watts; With the up to 25 watts recently announced by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC), up to 25 watts are now possible. This achieves Qi2.2.1, which is also referred to as “Qi2 25W”, the speed of the updated Magsafe charging device that Apple introduced together with the iPhone 16 in September last year.
Ugreens Magflow Magnetic Power Bank has a capacity of 10,000 mAh and has an integrated but non-rollable USB-C charging cable, which can be used as a lanyard if not used. Furthermore, an additional USB-C connection for the simultaneous shop of several devices and a small display on board are, which shows, among other things, the remaining capacity.
Since the Wireless Power Consortium has not yet finalized the Qi2.2 standard, Ugreen does not yet make any precise information about the market launch. On the product side there is only talk of a start in the course of the third quarter of 2025. Upon request from the company’s German agency, it was said that further information could be expected around August – in line with the IFA. The manufacturer has not yet known prices.
Qi2 in the future also for tablets and laptops
While Ugreen is still smawy with regard to availability, the manufacturer reveals a few more details about the updated charging standard: Qi2.2.1 Should have a stronger “magnetic array for a more precise magnetic orientation”, prevent overheating and increase the loading efficiency. The manufacturer also speaks of wider compatibility and charging stability with devices that support the Magnetic Power Profile (MPP).
According to Ugreen, the new standard is also ready “for future high-power profiles”, with which tablets, laptops and IoT are to be supplied wirelessly. Finally, it was said that Qi2.2 should deliver up to 50 watts of charging power in the future.
Android smartphones with full Qi2 support still in short supply
From the official side there are no details that support Ugreens Qi2-25W power bank. In view of the fact that Apple’s iPhone 16 series already offers wireless charging with 25 watts-mind you only over the charging puck introduced in autumn 2025-cannot be ruled out that they can also be refueled with 25 watts via Ugreen’s solution.
On the Android page, even smartphones with full Qi2 integration are in short supply-only the HMD skyline has full Qi2 support with a magnet ring for locking the power bank or other accessories. Other devices from manufacturers such as Samsung or OnePlus are only Qi2-Ready-the magnetic component must retrofit users via a protective cover.
