At Apple, there are apparently numerous updates of existing products in which improved system-on-a-chip (SOC) and system-in-package (SIP) are used. The code leak expert has corresponding details Aaron Perris Published on X and Macrumors. They come from Apple’s own software – which exactly did not indicate Perris.
HomePod Mini 2, iPad Mini 8, New Apple TV 4K
Apple apparently planned a second generation HomePod Mini. The New chip in it is to be based on the T8310 microarchitecture and bears the code name B525, while the previous models are called Apple internal B520. T8310 is also used in the S9 and S10 sips from Apple Watch Series 9 and 10. A SIP is currently playing in the HomePod Mini, which is based on the outdated S5 from the Apple Watch Series 5 from 2019. It is still unclear what is still in the HomePod Mini 2- a new combined WLAN and Bluetooth chip from Apple would be conceivable. It remains to be seen whether something else will change on the hardware. The new SIP is technically based on the A16 from the iPhone 14 Pro, has a 64-bit double-core processor with a neural engine with four cores.
A new one Apple TV 4K According to Macrumors, the A17 Pro comes in turn. This chip was installed in the iPhone 15 Pro for the first time and promises a good increase in speed compared to the currently used A15 Bionic-including Apple Intelligence support and improved graphic performance. The iPad mini 8 According to Code Leaks, the internal name J510 and J511 should be beared and equipped for the first time with an A19-Pro-SoC. This is not yet on the market, but is expected with the iPhone 17 Pro. When the new model will appear is still unclear – the current iPad mini 7 comes from 2024 and contains an A17 Pro. Furthermore, Apple allegedly plans a new entry-level IPAD, which would then receive the A18 from the iPhone 17 (code names: J581/J582).
Vision Pro 2, Apple Watch Series 11 and Studio Display 2
Furthermore, Apple’s code was discovered that the second generation of the Vision Pro With Apple’s M5 SoC is equipped. Before that, there had been speculation that Apple used the older M4 chip. It is still unclear when the model appears. It is said to have a little more convenient, since Apple plans improvements in the headband system. Furthermore, Aaron Perris Details on the Apple Wach Series 11, Ultra 3 and SE 3 opened. These should have an S11 SIP. However, it is conceivable that the chip contained continues to be based on the old T8310 architecture of S9 and S10. Apple has handled this in the past that SIPs only minimally improved from year to year.
After all, there are also indications of a second generation of the Studio Display. The internal name J427 is mentioned here in Apple’s code. There were no further details, but there was also a second code name called J527, which was initially not assigned. It could stand for a second variant of the studio display. Basically, Code Leaks do not mean that Apple is launching devices promptly-sometimes the mention is carried out unintentionally and will then be deleted again in later versions. Nevertheless, it is unusual that so much information is exposed at once.
