Pluribus: Apple series from “Breaking Bad” maker with sci-fi setting

Apple continues to enforce Apple TV+ as a premium streaming offer: Now the group managed to hire the well-known series maker Vince Gilligan. With “Pluribus” he will soon place a thriller science fiction series with the offer after working for classic TV channels for many years. Apple now has from the new show A first teaser on YouTube Placed, which, however, leaves more questions-typical of the Gilligan-than he answers.

The series maker is known for high -quality television: According to stations as the author of “Files X” (and makers of “The Lone Gunmen”), he achieved the big breakthrough with the drug series “Breaking Bad” from 2008 to 2013. This was followed by the spin-off “Better Call Saul”, which ran until 2022. At “Pluribus” he will now fill out all important roles: series maker (creator), director, authorship and executing producer.

Apple Write to “Pluribus” (comes from the US pattern “E Pluribus Unum”-“Out of many, one”), the series deals with the “miserable person on earth” who “has to save the world from their happiness”. Rhea Seehorn, who became known by “Better Call Saul”. Apple wants to bring a total of nine episodes that run every week from November 7th, start with a double episode. According to its own information, the iPhone group has already commissioned a second season of Gilligan.

A prison guard can be seen in the teaser – but not Seehorn – who licks a donut. A real trailer can be expected in a few weeks. In addition to Seehorn, Samba Schute, Carlos-Manuel Vesga and Karolina Wydra are also said to be represented in “Pluribus”. The last episode of the first season of the new series will be broadcast on December 26th.

New episodes appear on Fridays. In contrast to other streaming services, Apple is more based on television, which concerns the availability rhythm-instead of “binge-watching” with all the episodes, suddenly it always means being patient until the next episodes appear. Apple TV+ is offered for 9.99 euros a month. Above all, the service contains Apple’s own content and its production partners, partly for a limited period of time, but also repertoire material.
