Parallels desktop 26: Adjustments for MacOS 26 and more

Five version numbers skipped parallels desktop: from Release 20, which was published last September, it goes up to 26. This is the same as the daughter of Alludo/Corel is based on Apple’s new scheme, where there are no longer normal version numbers, but always used the number of next year, as was known from Windows. So MacOS 26 alias Tahoe belongs to parallel desktop 26. The VM tool gets some innovations for the new release year, which are, however, not revolutionary.

Necessary adjustments to TAHOO

With parallels desktop, it is possible to create and carry out virtual machines with Windows, MacOS or Linux operating system. In this way, you can also access further programs or test new versions in parallel to the main operating system. Parallels desktop 26 brings full compatibility with MacOS 26 alias Tahoe as a guest operating system (VM already works), which should be released in September, plus complete support for Windows 11 25H2 as VM.

Visually, parallels desktop 26 is also adapted to Tahoe – at least occasionally. According to the manufacturer, there had to be internal adjustments in order to be able to work restrictively handled background processes under MacOS 26 of Apple. The Coherence modethe Windows VM and MacOS unites, is preserved. Windows VMS can now also read out the SSD memory on the MAC, which was not previously technically possible. This fixes a possible source of frustration (crashes, freezes).

Innovations for Enterprise and admins

Business users and admins receive help for the single app deployment in Windows (new documentary), there are new JAMF MDM functions for monitoring and management of updates as well as granular policy controls for safer virtual machines in the enterprise management portal of parallels. Finally, Parallels Desktop received a renewed SOC-2-Type-II certification, which one or the other IT team should be happy.

Parallels 26 is currently available for normal users from 65 euros a year, a one -time purchase costs 190 euros. The Pro Edition currently starts at 78 euros a year and is only available as a subscription. The business edition sells parallels for just under 100 euros. Anyone who has the annual subscription can update immediately.
