Our goal is Harmonyos to reach over 30% market share worldwide

The Chinese conglomerate Huawei has set itself extremely serious and bold goals for the future of its Harmonyos operating system. Although at the beginning of its existence, Huawei’s plans include the transformation of software into the third main player in the market after iOS and Android.

Huawei will try to achieve something that no one else has been able to do so far, including Microsoft with Windows Phonenamely, to break Apple and Google’s hegemony in the mobile operating systems market.

One of the main actors behind the Chinese company, Richard Yu, shares in his interview with CCTV, that the ambition of him and his colleagues is in the long run is Harmonyos to occupy at least 1/3 of the market worldwidewhich would put her in a direct and quite fierce competition with iOS and Android.

At this point, the software can boast a barely About 10 million usersHowever, which he reaches surprisingly quickly, exceeding even Huawei’s preliminary internal goals.

The original versions of Harmonyos were based on Android, but with the arrival of Harmonyos Next, the operating system’s infrastructure is already made entirely by the engineers of the technology giant.

Developed as an alternative to Android for Huawei smartphones, Harmonyos already has versions for Tablets, smart home devices, smartchase and even personal computers and laptops. This, according to Richard Yu, makes the Huawei ecosystem equally accessible and well built as those of its competitors.

Of course, for now, Huawei’s plans and ambitions remain in the realm of dreams and positive PR, but we would not be surprised if they someday turned into a reality.
