Ordering tracking: Apple Wallet will be much better in it thanks to AI in the future

Apple’s wallet should actually become a central point of contact for purchases on the iPhone. To do this, you should not only be able to pay with Apple Pay cards, but also follow the order triggered with it. The problem: So far, e-commerce providers have had to implement their own code, but only a small selection of companies did. With iOS 26, this should now be better: Apple’s operating system can extract order information from emails on request and then bring their course into the wallet. This works thanks to Apple Intelligence.

“Apple Wallet now uses Apple Intelligence to automatically recognize, summarize and notify details of the shipment tracking in emails from dealers and suppliers,” writes Apple. This works with all orders, “so that users: inside the entire order details, the delivery status and more can see in one place”. Unfortunately, the feature has not yet been activated for Europe – apparently only Americans can use it at first. The function that otherwise hides in the wallet settings does not appear on iPhones with a German Apple account. Only the old order tracking can currently be found here, which is only available for “participating dealers” – those that have implemented Apple’s code.

An additional switch can be found in the Wallet settings on US equipment that “Mail (beta)” says. This allows Apple Intelligence and Siri to supply the wallet with ordering information from Apple Mail on the device. As usual with all other Apple intelligence functions, detection only works on supported devices. These are all iPhone 16 series, iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max as well as all iPhone-17 models and the iPhone Air.

Users who have tried the function report that they usually work well. The wallet knows the various forms of delivery status such as “on the go”, “delivered” or “in delivery” and should update them regularly. However, the data always seems to come from Apple Mail – if you look at your emails regularly, you already know. Nevertheless, the overview is useful at one point in the system.

In the wallet there is also the possibility to send emails to the dealer or to view the emails connected to the order. In addition, if possible, Apple links to the website of parcel service providers. Apple Mail also recognizes related emails with orders and then offers tracking in wallet that you may have to allow, according to Apple. When the feature will also come to Germany is still unclear.
