According to the published information, the iPhone 17 comes to 3692 mAh (volt number unchanged), that would be an increase of almost 3.8 percent compared to the iPhone 16. The iPhone Air, which replaces the iPhone 16 Plus in the portfolio, is equipped with 3149 mAh (ESIM-Only worldwide). It gets even more extensive for the Pro models. Apple grants the iPhone 17 per 18 percent more battery (4252 mAh) than the 16 Pro, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is now 5088 mAh. The latter would be the first time that Apple installs a battery with over 5000 mAh. The plus of capacity compared to the 16 Pro Max is just less than 9 percent.

According to Apple, the iPhone 17 offers a playback period of up to 30 hours stored by locally stored videos and up to 27 hours when streaming video content. The iPhone Air holds up to 27 hours on video playback and creates up to 22 hours of streaming. With the iPhone 17 Pro, up to 33 hours of video playback and up to 30 hours of video streaming are possible, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max offers the longest term with up to 39 hours of video and up to 35 hours of streaming. Apple had built the last two pro-model generations with a frame made of titanium, in which there were initially complaints due to too warm hardware. That was logical: Titan has poorer thermal conductivity than aluminum, which was previously only in the standard models. Surprisingly, Apple even advertises that: the keynote said that the thermal conductivity was now “20 times larger” for the new ProS. Buyers of earlier models with a titanium frame will not taste good at all.
