Mobile storage giants: hard drives for Mac backup and archive

Data losses can occur through hardware defects, accidental deletion or software problems at any time. With Time Machine, MacOS offers an integrated, automated backup system that makes the restoration of previous file versions just as easy as the full back of its personal setup in an emergency.

The easiest way is done together with an external hard drive. In addition, you can outslive large files to get space on the internal SSD. We have ordered USB hard drives from a size of 4 terabytes.

The six models tested do not even need their own power supply because they obtain their electricity via USB. With their performance consumption, all candidates remained under the normal 4.5 watts of USB 3.
