MicroSD cards from 1 TB in the test: Additional place in the MacBook Pro

Even fast microSD cards with a maximum of about 250 MByte/s are much slower than the internal SSDs of the current MacBook ProS (over 2.5 GB/s or over 5 GB/s with M-Pro or M-MAX chip), but for the shelf of private videos, photos, music files, audio books, PDFs, downloads and other space-effective documents. With their high access times, on the other hand, they are not suitable as working or even starting volumes. In addition, fast SD cards in continuous operation with high data rates get hot and then significantly slower.

When playing music or individual transfers from files to 5 GB and breaks in between, this is hard to notice with the good cards, but with constant access, the pace will also drop at some point. We have therefore also carried out several tests with large files over 6 GB.
