MacBook Air 2025: Apple laptop now with M4 chip and cheaper

The MacBook Air M4 is here: Apple now offers the laptop series with the faster processor, which made its debut in the first Macs last autumn. The M4 also combines four high -performance cores with six efficiency cores in the MacBook Air – two more than in the predecessor M3. For the 10-core CPU, a 10-core GPU is added in the more expensive configurations with a little brisk RAM connection of 120 GB/s (previously 100 GB/s on the M3). It now supports up to 32 GB of RAM for the first time. As a battery life, Apple still promises “up to 18 hours”.

Better support for external monitors

A performance leap of well over 20 percent can be expected to the previous model with M3 – similar to the current MacBook per M4. Apple now also clears an annoying restriction in the control of monitors at the MacBook Air: The M4 model variant can control two external screens with up to 6K resolution and the manufacturer's active integrated display. Preliminary models still have to fold up.

Nothing changes in the new design and size in 2022, the new MacBook Air leads the manufacturer with 13 “or 15” and 15 “screen in the program.

Nothing changes in the number of connections, but now Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C) instead of Thunderbolt 3 are on board-in addition to Magsafe as an additional option for the power supply.

In the United States, the entry price for the MacBook Air M4 is now $ 1,000 (without taxes), in Germany at 1200 euros (with VAT). The 13-inch basis with 8-core GPU continues to equip Apple with 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB SSD-subsequent upgrade is not possible. The variant with 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU, 16 GB RAM and 512 GB SSD costs 1450 euros. The 15 “model is available from 1500 euros from the manufacturer. The maximum equipment with 32 GB of RAM and 2 TBS-SSD costs 3000 euros. The new MacBooks will be on sale on March 12th.
