MAC Studio: Problems with the installation of MacOS 26 TAHOO

Apple’s most powerful Mac, the Mac Studio with M3-Ultra-Chip, cannot currently install MacOS 26 aka Tahoe. Like users among other things In the official Apple support forums report, the upgrade runs, but ends shortly before completion with an error message. The system then carries out an unexpected reboot. After all, users do not seem to be to flatten their system: they end up in the login screen of the pre-version, i.e. MacOS Sequoia. There is obviously not permanent damage – at least according to current experiences – but also no Taoe.

The log files can be seen that there is a validation error by the Ane register in the area of ​​anehwDevice. Those affected also tried to download the installer themselves and then install them, but that doesn’t work either. Even a previous update to MacOS 15.7 does not help. Anhwdevice seems to be connected to the Neural Engine in the M3 Ultra, for the Possibly missing drivers in MacOS 26 – or at least they are not stored for Tahoe.

That the Apple apparently did not notice during the beta phase. Furthermore, Apple could play an inappropriate build by MacOS 26 for the Mac Studio M3 Ultra, which is missing. This sometimes occurs – albeit rarely – and could be solved by a new play. As soon as there is a new build, the operating system should signal this by a new download from software updates.

According to information from the Apple support forums, the group has already been informed. However, there is still no official statement as to when the problem will be solved. Anyone who has not yet tried to install MacOS 26 should be better omitted at the Mac Studio M3 Ultra to ensure that there is really no damage when upgrading. Basically, you should definitely create a backup in advance with such an update.

Many professionals also tend not to install new MAC operating systems immediately, even so as not to run into compatibility problems or unfixed bugs. Overall, versions such as MacOS 26.2 should be more stable. The problem: All safety -relevant fixes are not included in MacOS 15.7, they are only in MacOS 26.0.
