The Austrian developer Ergonis has brought his useful keyboard tool Keycue for MacOS up to date. With the tool it is possible to display at the push of a button or via the menu bar which keyboard shortcuts are available for an currently open app – plus (if available) macros and system -wide shortcuts. The app can also store new keyboard shortcuts for commands directly in the system if they do not yet exist.
Revised design
With Keycue 11 the surface of the tool was improved. It has now become more modern, contains new dark and bright themes and a new activation menu. Unicode 15 is fully supported and the app was optimized for MacOS 15 alias Sequoia. With one click you can reset the settings to default. In addition to command, control and option, FN, dictation button and Apple's globalkey can also be used to call.
Usually you use keycue by walking into the desired app and then holding the command button (apple) for a little longer. Then Keycue shows all existing keyboard shortcuts and also offers a search function. The purpose is to learn the commands for yourself or to be able to call up faster. It is also possible to create new abbreviations directly in the menu bar. Otherwise this can only be done through the system settings. To do this, use a keycue shortcut and tap the desired combination. The app also has integration for various macro apps such as keyboard Maestro, whose keyboard macros it can indicate.
Individual price or in the subscription
The license system was also changed with Keycue 11. As a single purchase for the current version, $ 39.99 is due (without update capacity). Otherwise, you pay either $ 19.99 a year for 2 devices or $ 39.99 a year for a business license with 5 devices. Ergonis also offers enterprise licenses on request.
If the themes used for keycue – a whole series are supplied – cannot please also create some. For apps that have too many keyboard shortcuts, Keycue also offers its own add-ons, for example for teams, Adobe Photoshop or nose.
