One of the most useful and long -awaited features in last year’s big MacOS update – MacOS Sequoia was the iPhone Mirroring – the ability to clone the screen of our smartphone directly on the screen of our laptop or desktop MAC. However, due to Apple’s continuing disputes with regulators in the European Union, this functionality will continue to be missing for users in the region for an indefinite period of time.
In Interview with French Technology Website Numerama During the WWDC 2025 last week, representatives of apple They explain that the iPhone Mirroring will continue to be inaccessible to their customers in the EU and in the upcoming MacOS Tahoe update.
Apple points out the uncertainties in the all -new regulations coming from the European Commission as the main reason for the lack of this useful option, but do not commit to date to launch it within the Union.
According to a number of analysts, however, the Cupertino giant may have concerns about potential demands by eurregulators in the direction of Android Mirroring for Mac or even the iPhone Mirroring for Windows.
Last but not least, it is Apple’s potential concern for MacOS to be designated as a dominant platform, tend to restrict access to such features. This could bring with it a number of new sanctions and even new court proceedings – a development that Apple would certainly want to avoid.
