iPhone 17 series overtakes iPhone 16 sales in the world’s two largest markets

Sales of Apple’s new iPhone 17 series smartphones outpaced last year’s iPhone 16 in the world’s two largest markets. Current models have attracted 14 percent more interest in the U.S. and China, according to data released today by Counterpoint Research.

Counterpoint Research’s report touches on the first 10 days after the launch of the iPhone 17 series and only applies to the US and China. These are two key markets for Apple, which generated a huge percentage of the total sales of their smartphones.

The standard iPhone 17 performs excellently in China, attracting audiences with the new chip, display improvements, selfie camera, and twice the storage at the same price as the iPhone 16. Analysts point out that this device is a very good proposal in terms of price-quality ratio.

In the United States, the focus is on the most expensive model iPhone 17 Pro Max, which marks serious growth due to even more serious subsidies from leading operators.

The iPhone Air model, which is sold only in an eSIM version, performs better than the iPhone 16 Plus, which takes its place in Apple’s portfolio. However, the expectations are that the Air will remain a more niche device.
