iPhone 17 Pro: Entry model allegedly with 256 GB of memory in the future

The spoil of choice in memory equipment could be a little lower for Apple’s next generation of the iPhone. The smartphone manufacturer allegedly wants to do without the entry -level size of 128 GB at the iPhone 17 Pro. Unfortunately, this change has its price: the iPhones should become more expensive at the same time, report different leaves, citing unnamed sources.

In the future, the smartphone should start at $ 1049 for the basic configuration with 256 GB of memory-$ 50 more than the current iPhone 16 Pro with 128 GB. In Germany, prices start at 1199 euros.

As new leaks from China confirm, Apple allegedly wants to delete the entry variant with 128 GB of memory without replacement at the iPhone 17 Pro. Customers then only have the choice between 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB – instead of four different storage options, only three in the future.

The Chinese leaker “Instant digital” On Weibo, earlier rumors are specified that had already predicted a price increase for the Pro models by $ 50. However, the memory configurations have remained unclear.

The procedure is not new for Apple: As early as 2023, the manufacturer had raised the entry price from $ 1,199 on the iPhone 15 Pro Max and at the same time made 256 GB the new basic equipment. Now Apple seems to apply this tactic two years later to the iPhone 17 Pro.

According to current information, the price structure of the entire iPhone-17 series should be designed as follows:

  • iPhone 17: 799 dollars (128 GB) – unchanged for the previous year
  • iPhone 17 Air: $ 949 (128 GB) – replaces the iPhone Plus
  • iPhone 17 Pro: $ 1,049 (256 GB) – $ 50
  • iPhone 17 Pro Max: $ 1,249 (256 GB) – $ 50

The official presentation of the iPhone-17 series is expected for September 2025. Until then, the specifications and prices mentioned remain speculation.
