Apple has just introduced the new iPhone 17, which visually does not look like a serious change, but the characteristics are a very serious upgrade over the myonal year’s iPhone 16. The new model has a larger and much better screen, finally introducing 120 Hz refreshing.
The iPhone 17 now has a larger 6.3 “Super Retina XDR display compared to 6.1” before. The resolution is 2622 x 1206 pixels for pixel density of 460 ppi, the peak bright in the open can reach 3000 nits, there is a new layer of glare, and the most important novelty is the introduction of Promotion technology. By this name, Apple calls the high refresh of the 120 Hz screen, which turns out to be identical to Pro models and allows a dynamic adjustment of the refresher frequency of 1 to 120 Hz.
The selfie camera on the phone is brand new – already 18 MP (12 MP before), with a blend f/1.9, ultra -width scope and autofocus. A square sensor is used, not with a proportions of 4 to 3, thanks to which Apple explains that it introduces the opportunity for horizontal selfies, even if the phone is held vertically.
The main camera is still dual, including 48 MP main sensor with Sensor-Shift stabilization, aperture f/1.6 and 26 mm focal length, which takes 48 MP or 24 MP photos. This camera also achieves a 2x zoom of close to optical quality, but the big novelty is the ultrasound camera, which is an upgrade of 12 MP before up to a new 48 MP sensor. It can also make 48 MP macro shots.
The digital zoom is up to 10x and the lenses are covered by sapphire crystal.
The configuration is based on Apple’s brand A19 chipset, which comes with a 6-core processor and 5-core graphics, as well as updated Angine display and a neural processor. For the first time, we have a minimum of 256 GB of internal memory with the base iPhone, which is a great and long -awaited step up for Apple.
Due to the Promotion technology on its display, the iPhone 17 promises more energy efficient work, and can withstand 8 hours more than the iPhone 16 when watching video or for 30 hours. Charging is also faster – 50% of the battery capacity is filled for 20 minutes if it is used as a charger as Apple’s new 40W Dynamic Power Adapter.
The phone’s body has IP68 dust and water protection, the back is made of colored glass, the aluminum frame, and the display is already protected by Ceramic Shield 2 – with 3 times higher scratches resistance to the previous generation.
Apple launches the iPhone 17 in five colors – black/black, white/White, Blue/Mist Blue, Green/Sage and Purple/Lavender, with the starting price still $ 799 in the US and 949 euros with us, but now for 256 GB of memory. The only other memory version is 512 GB and costs 1199 euros.
Sales start on September 19th.
