Apple is now very quick to put materials for newly introduced products on the market with which customers can try self -repair. The iPhone 16E, published at the end of March, is now also covered: As part of the Self Service Repair Program (SSRP), you can buy all kinds of spare parts from Apple’s official repair shop. As always, however, it is worthwhile: This is particularly worthwhile for people who have fun with it – and skillful hands. Financially, if you set up the working hours, you may pay more.
A dozen categories
The iPhone-16e parts were released in the United States and-praise-also in numerous European countries. As usual, you have to do the Visit self-service repair store. There you then select the right product category and the model and find the 16e here – as before the models 16, 16 plus, 16 per and 16 per max. The available components are divided into a dozen areas. These include battery, camera, display, back glass, loudspeaker, taptic engine, microphones and various other parts, if not all main boards.
As usual, Apple also provides suitable tools – from quality screwdrivers to special hardware with which you can open the screen or use the battery correctly. Apple can also be rented by Apple more expensive products or entire sets if you do not want to carry out the repairs more often. Apple has designed the repair store so that you can always find tools next to the spare parts, which makes the offer very clear.
Reading repair manuals carefully
The manuals that Apple has published on the web for all products that can be repaired in the SSRP are of central importance. Also For the iPhone 16e there is now one. It is already available in German and explained (largely) easy to understand how to proceed. Nevertheless, you should have initial experience with the repair of electronic devices beforehand. It is also interesting in the repair manuals that they help with the diagnosis of problems. They also help to get an understanding of the structure of the devices.
Before you pull out the credit card, if you get it to do with a defective iPhone 16E, you should first check whether it is a problem or a warranty case. The latter would be done free of charge by Apple. If you have taken out an AppleCare+device insurance, standard repairs can be obtained against low fees. Apple is often accommodating for battery problems, so it is worthwhile to contact the service first. The spare parts prices are by no means without. A single display, including screws alone, costs 269 euros alone. After all, there is a credit of 13.45 euros if you send in the defective screen.
