Ipados more like MacOS: Does version 19 finally bring improvements?

Apple-user has long been complaining that iPados can do significantly less than MacOS. This became particularly clear last year on the iPad Pro M4, which Apple was the first device to donate the new SoC. The entire power of the chip cannot be used due to the service deficits of iPados. This starts with the suboptimal window management of the operating system and does not end with the fact that there is still no real multitasking: For example, you cannot switch to another app, while Final Cut Pro for iPad renders. But the rumor mill gives a little hope: Ipados 19, together with a redesign, also provides more Mac-like innovations. This is reported by Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman.

According to his information, Apple will take care of things such as “Productivity, Multitasking and App Window Management” when updating-all areas that long-standing iPad users find deficient. The devices should therefore work “more like a Mac”. “It took a long time,” said Gurman. “Apple has long wanted the iPad-Power users that the tablet is made more powerful.”

According to Gurman’s information, the old wish to make MacOS tablet-capable, but not (yet) come true. “But the changes will probably go far enough to make many of these users happy – at least first.” It is surprising that Apple only takes care of the topic a year after the M4 was published. Ipados 19 will probably be released together with new iPads that have an M5 processor for the first time-Apple does not prefer the release. “For years, users have been saying that the hardware skills of the iPad are so much further than that of its software. That could change soon.”

The interesting thing about the (late) development is that the technology has long been there. The iPad is fast enough, allows the keyboard and trackpad to connect, and the screen comes up to 12.9 inches. Apple’s developers alone didn’t want to go along. You also want the hardware to remain easy to use with your fingers. That would simply not be possible with MacOS.

Apple is also said to work on a foldable that is said to have 18.8 inches and could appear in 2026. However, it is still unclear whether this is a Mac or an iPad.
