iPad Pro M5: What has not yet leaked through

A lot of information is already known about Apple’s new iPads of the Pro class, which are expected to be launched in October. So the US communication supervision FCC revealed several model numbers-and a Russian YouTuber already showed the new device with its M5 chip and benchmark in a video after the tablet may have been from the supply chain on the way from China. However, some details are still unclear to which rumors had circulated in advance. Among other things, they concern the camera equipment.

As the name suggests, the iPad Pro M5 has an M5 processor-and will probably be available in the 11 and 13-inch variants as before. According to the benchmarks, Apple also worked on the RAM and now equips the devices with up to 12 instead of 8 Gbygte. The Geekbench 6 results are 12 percent faster in multicore and 36 percent faster for GPU tests-each compared to the M4 from last year.

The 256 GB model is already equipped with the 12 MB in question, as Apple is already using in the Pro models of the iPhone 17 and the iPhone Air. With the iPad Pro M4 there were only 8 GB of RAM for the 256 and 512 GB models, which doubled to 16 GB in the versions with 1 and 2 TB. However, it remains unclear whether Apple ends up with 24 GB in these variants of the iPad Pro M5. Oled and general design obviously do not change, even the packaging remains the same. However, Apple allegedly omits the “iPad Pro” brand name on the back.

However, it is confusing that Apple apparently does not install a second selfie camera, as the rumor mill had expected. Instead, the Russian video shows no evidence. Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman On Sunday, wrote that he could “say” that the iPad Pro-M5 devices used within Apple “have the second lens”.

However, in the past, the group also tested functions up to an advanced stage and then dropped, such as certain storage capacities or a second dock connection, as was once intended for the original IPAD. He still thinks the omission of the second selfie camera is a “strange removal at the last minute”.
