Improved AKKUTURE: iOS 26 provides information to users

Apple has again made changes in iPhone battery management with the latest beta version of iOS 26 (Develop Beta 7, Public Beta 4), which was published on Tuesday night. The new adaptive mode, which is intended to ensure that the device is made automatic from the iPhone 15 Pro (Max) and Neuer, to make the battery as well as possible, now comes with a new information dialog.

New switch in the battery settings

Before that, there had been only one simple switch in the previous previous versions: on or off. If it was pressed, the iPhone then took over more robust battery management. This not only includes simple changes such as a slightly reduced screen brightness, but also the intervention in “some activities” of the devices, which then took “a little longer”. However, iOS 26 also only appears in September.

With the new iOS-26 beta there is now a second switch. This makes it possible to receive so -called adaptive power notifications. The iPhone informs the user when battery saving measures are carried out. It initially remained unclear whether the hint did not appear in earlier betas, so the new switch only An explicit activation and deactivation option represents for the notification. In any case, letting this active is useful to keep control.

No longer surprised if the iPhone is paralyzed

If there is an adaptation of the system performance that starts Apple’s adaptive battery AI, the notification says that the iPhone has “adapted its performance to extend your battery life”. So you can find out what the device is doing – and if necessary, deactivate the function if it takes away too much system output.

One of the main reasons why Apple introduces the function at all seems to be the particularly thin iPhone 17 Air. The device should bring a battery comparatively small for Apple smartphones because there is no longer space in the housing. In order to compensate for this, iOS 26 should act particularly economically, so that users can still get through the day with the new flat iPhone. But other iPhones, if necessary, benefit from the function as long as it does not slow down the performance.
