Google cannot deny British surveillance order either

A British secret command stipulates Apple to incorporate a back door into strong encryption of backups and other data. Now it is indicated that Apple is not alone and Google has also been delivered a comparable secret arrangement. The secret commands in Great Britain are called Technical Capability Notice (TCN).

The author of these lines has not received any TCN. I can tell that publicly because and as long as I have not received any. If I had received one, I should neither deny nor affirm it from the right. And because Apple also adheres to British law, it has only told the US parliament that in the event of the case, it should not say whether it has received a TCN or not.

It is striking that Google also informed the US Senator's office Ron Wyden that nothing to say about it in the event of the case. It is not a Dementi right now.

Apple tries to pull himself out of the affair by switching off the Advanced Data Protection (ADP) in the United Kingdom. This weakens the encryption, but Apple thinks that Apple does not have to install a back door in a service that is not offered in the country. But this is not satisfied with the royal secret services that want to spy worldwide.

Therefore, Apple legally defends itself against London's secret arrangement. It submitted a complaint against the secret command at the Investigatory Powers Tribunal. The committee located at the British Ministry of the Interior describes itself as an independent facility. It decides in secret about complaints about possibly legal violations when using secret investigation or monitoring methods by the United Kingdom authorities.

Democrat Wyden has now written an open letter to the presiding judge, whose name is secret, together with two other members of his party and two of the Republicans. The US politicians demand that the court resolve the confidentiality of the surveillance commands as far as the US companies affect. Because cutting freedom and data protection, undermine the control of the secret services by the parliaments of both states, damage national security and finally the “special relationship” between the United Kingdom and the United States, which emerged from British colonies.

“Secret court hearings with secret services and a handful of these approved people do not enable robust review in high-technical matters,” the US politicians are reminiscent of the British body. In view of the threat to the National Security of the United States, they demand that US experts can analyze the technical guidelines and to comment on their security.

In addition, the letter sent last Thursday demands that the negotiations and all subsequent procedural steps scheduled for last Friday will follow the principle of public jurisdiction. So far, the letter has not made any visible success.
