Gadget Inspector: Smarter presence sensor, long -lasting airfare and more

Good accessories make the life of the Apple user more beautiful-bad ones only costs money and annoys. In this episode of the Gadget inspector, we take a total of four interesting products that promise to improve the use of Mac, iPhone and other Apple devices. This time there: presence without a camera, iPad holder with energy, compact streamer and battery for airtails.

The presence detector of Meross, on the one hand, recognizes movement, and on the other hand the presence of people in the smart home. In addition, for example, he can control lamps in Apple Home via automation or send push messages to the owner if someone enters a room. To detect, the sensor uses radar in the microwave area (MMWave), a PIR sensor for movements and a light sensor. The sensor recognizes the present person up to twelve meters up to twelve meters up to six meters away. The detection worked smoothly in the test. In order not to limit the radius or therefore do not trigger false alarms, you can place a small cover above the curved sensor.

The MS600 receives electricity from a short USB-C cable from a supplied power supply. For the cable routing, a flap can be rolled out on the back, which also serves as – unfortunately quite shaky – base. Adhesive pads and cable clamps are included for wall mounting. The MS600 is integrated into a 2.4 GHz WLAN. It is enough to scan the QR code on the page with the iPhone and Apple’s Home app. The sensor is matter-certified and supports Alexa, Google Home or Smart Things in addition to Homekit.
