The first folding iPhone comes, whether we are ready for it or not. So far, we know that it seems to be cheaper than expected and that mass production will start very soon. Today, however, one of the most popular technological messengers in the online space, Ming-chi Quo, brings us a confirmation of a rather unpleasant news.
The Korean analyst has denied the recent rumors that the folding iPhone will include an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the display. In fact, the truth is completely different. The device will use the Touch ID system for this purpose, at least in its first generation.
According to Quo Apple, it has already even chosen the company that will provide the Touch ID parts for this model, according to it is Chinese manufacturer Luxshare ICT. Given that mass production should start in the next few weeks, this is not particularly surprising.

The emerging information so far mentions that in the folded position we can expect a diagonal of 5.5 ”, and in the unfolded – about 7.8 ”. The form will be of the “Book” type, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold series of Samsung, while the thickness is expected to be 4.5 mm in unfolded and between 9 and 9.5 mm in the folded position.
The price of the first folding iPhone is expected to be between $ 1800 and $ 2000, and one of the main innovations we expect to offer is the almost overall deletion of the visible fold of the internal display. Unfortunately, Apple, however, this innovation is likely to be seen first with the Galaxy Z Fold8 a few months earlier.
