First major update for Apple’s new invitation app

Apple donated a first point release to his invitation app alias invites published for the first time in February. After mini updates shortly after the release-1.0.1 and 1.0.2- Version 1.1 ready for download. Despite the larger increase in version numbers, Apple does not provide any information on what has been optimized. It only means succinct that there are “error deposits and performance improvements”. So Apple has not submitted missing features such as the ability to have users accepting invitations without Apple account.

The iPhone group had given his iCloud+customers another goodie with invitations. Only this – if you pay for the subscription at least 99 cents a month – can create new parties, events and other events in the app. These can then be viewed via the app (only on the iPhone) or on the web (via iCloud.com). If a person wants to promise, they have to create an Apple account. This is not unusual even with competitive apps, but is usually more easily regulated there-such as the direct competitor Partiful, which is also available for Android. In addition, not every iCloud wants to use.

Otherwise, the invitation app is quite sensible: it offers a remarkable and easy-to-understand surface, allows a graphically appealing design of invitations and can even lead a common play list for the party (if people have Apple Music). In addition, there is also a common photo album for each event if you put it on. However, Apple has not yet implemented survey tools for finding and/or clarifying important questions such as food supply at the event.

Apple invitations 1.1 is available on time for the appearance of iOS 18.4, which among other things brings Apple Intelligence to Germany. Accordingly, one would have expected suitable functions. The app already supports Apple’s in -house image generators such as Image Playground, now also in German.

It is conceivable that Apple is preparing further innovations with the update, which are then submitted in the app itself via the Internet. Large parts of the invitation app come from the Apple server anyway, as iCloud.com variant and app are similar.
