In the past, the group kept the generation of the previous year as an entry -level variant in the range. Now Apple breaks with this tradition: Even the cheapest configuration is now coming with the M4 chip. We now take a look at this version after we tested it on page 18 in Mac & I Issue 2/2025.
The entry-level variant is only available as a 13-inch model. The housing milled from an aluminum block is 11.3 millimeters thick (without feet) and weighs feather -light 1,23 kilograms. In addition to MAGSAFE, the device has two USB-C ports on the left side, on which USB 4 and Thunderbolt 4 are concerned. On the right there is a jack socket that can also supply high -resistance headphones. Wi-Fi 6e supports it in the radio connections.
The backlit keyboard brings function buttons in full and the fingerprint sensor (touch ID) in the on/off switch. The trackpad is large and does not miss any functions known from the MacBook Pro.
