ENE, Mene, Knipse: Four camera apps for iOS against Apple’s camera

We wanted to know whether universal camera apps from third-party providers are still worthwhile in view of this-what added value they offer and where they steal. From the annual charts 2024 and the current photo charts in the App Store of Germany, Austria and the USA before the test started, we fished the candidates out of the upper places. Three are similar, namely Pro Camera by Moment, Procam from Tinkerworks apps and Procamera from Cocologics. The App Store offers numerous other programs for confusion. Also included: Fulvio Scichilone with DSLR Camera. All four apps can be purchased by once, partly expandable via an in-app meal or subscription. The latter is the price striker with 99 cents, the most expensive app is Procamera (20 euros plus in-app purchases).

We did not take into account the well -known Halide Mark II, it could not be found on the upper chart places. At 10 euros per month or a one-off 70 euros, it costs significantly more by buying an app. In addition, the developer has tackled an all -round new version. It is still uncertain whether it will be released in 2025.
