Apple has requested a rejection of a crime lawsuit in which users demand money compensation for the delayed context -sensitive siri. The new AI functions should actually have been released last spring, but probably only came in the first months of 2026. Apple was then sued several times: on the one hand by customers who claim that because of the new function, they have acquired an Apple-intelligence-capable iPhone, but also from shareholders, who may have led to the shift in the Apple share course.
Many AI features delivered, says Apple
In the class action, to which Apple now reacted (5: 25 cv-02668-NW at the United States District Court for the northern district of California in San Jose), it is about false advertising promises. The procedure summarizes several collective suits that were submitted to different US dishes.
Apple’s legal provisions write in their “motion to dismiss”, which already To the court at the end of September Went, the delay of only two functions could not support the “far -reaching reservations” of the plaintiffs. Because “almost two dozen Apple intelligence features” were released regularly, such as image playground, writing tools, genemoji, AI-based prioritization of notifications and more. Apple also announced from the start that the AI functions are gradually released and “develop”.
Do not rely on advertising
In addition, users on the iPhone 16 would have benefited from “camera improvements, expanded chips and improved performance, updated displays and numerous other hardware and software improvements. Among other things, the plaintiffs had one TV display Apple called in which the new features have already been shown “live”. Apple now writes that the plaintiffs could not have “rely on Apple’s advertising ‘or’ marketing ‘in general.
In addition, in the lawsuits, they would have been partially relying on claims that did not even come from Apple. Apple’s lawyers also do not see that Apple’s approach was “unfair” – that is, possibly confusing competition. Apple has also not enriched itself illegally to the customer and did not broke any guarantee promises. It remains to be seen how the procedure will continue – the court has at least several months to decide on rejection or the progress of the class action.
