Curve Pay instead of Apple Pay: Apple is competing with other wallet

More Wallet selection for iPhones: With Curve Pay, another Apple Pay alternative has started. The Pay Cosystem had been a “solo game” by Apple for far too long, the founder of Curve said that this “monopoly” will now be ended. At the pressure of EU regulators, Apple had to open the NFC interface to iPhones for other payment services, over many years only the in-house service Apple Pay was allowed to access it.

In contrast to PayPal, which now also offers its own iPhone wallet in Germany, Curve Pay competes in the entire European Economic Area (EEA). This means that iPhone users can choose a different provider not only in Germany, but also in Austria and all other EU countries, including Liechtenstein, Norway and Iceland for their standard wallet. The standard wallet opens on the standby button of the iPhone by pushing twice.

Similar to Apple Pay, you can also Curve Pay Add various your own debit and credit cards and then use for payments to NFC cass terminals. The service accepts Mastercard, Visa and Diners Club. American Express and Girocard have to stay outside.

Curve offers some special functions that have not yet existed in Apple Pay or the Apple Wallet: This includes, for example, that payments can be assigned to a different credit card afterwards and several cards serve as an automatic fallback if the card used should be rejected. There is also a cashback program and the option to integrate PayPal.

Curve was primarily known for its Apple Pay integration: The service enabled users to use Banks with Apple Pay early on, who did not support this in Germany-as was the case with Postbank for a long time. The option of integrating Curve in Apple Pay were available unchanged on Friday. It remained unclear whether this is now changing with your own NFC wallet.
