China: New rumors for the iPhone foldable – including resolution and camera

It has been there for a while until 2026. Nevertheless, the rumors are condensed on possible foldables that Apple is planning in the coming year. A well -known leaker from China now claims to know the resolutions planned by Apple – and how the camera should be installed.

Like the Handle Digital Chat Station Writes on Weibotwo screens – inside and outside, as you also know from Galaxy Fold & Co., are planned. The outdoor umbrella is said to have only 5.49 inches. For comparison: The iPhone 16 Pro Max now comes with 6.9 inches, 5.4 inches last had the iPhone 13 mini. The resolution of the outside display is said to be 2088 times 1422 pixels (13 mini: 2340 by 1080).

The main screen is said to reach 7.76 inches, which would be a little less than the previously rumored almost 8 inches. There should be a resolution of 2713 times 1920 pixels, i.e. a good 4: 3. This ratio is a standard problem for foldables: You only play videos with thick black edges. You can distribute several apps on the screen, provided that Apple finally allows this in iOS. Before that, it was already said that Apple was planning a largely “wrinkled” display for his foldable, which is also an old problem. The fold in the screen is to be prevented with a special mechanics.

In addition to the dissolving information, Digital Chat Station also has another news in store: He (or she) claims that Apple is trying to use an under-display camera for the first time. With this technology, the camera is installed on the screen and cannot be seen regularly. Technically, this has some disadvantages, with Apple has been dealing with the topic for a long time.

The under-display camera is to be used for selfies, the rear camera is normal, supposedly with two image sensors (instead of three as with the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max). Instead of facial recognition via Face ID, a fingerprint sensor (touch ID) could also come in the switch-on or sleep/wake button. In addition to the iPhone foldable, a larger iPad (or a Mac) that has over 18 inches is also planned.
