The basic model of the upcoming series of the iPhone 17 can get a larger display. Instead of the current 6.1 ” diagonal, which we can find on the iPhone 16, this year’s model is likely to obtain a 6.3 ” panel.
This is a new case for Spigen’s phones. In the product description in the Indian version of Amazon, we can see that the case will be suitable for both iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17, which suggests an upgrade in the base model.
This can be a clever move from Apple, with which it is easier to lure buyers to the more capable version of its future phone, with hardware differences between the two models expected to be significant. Of course, this can be a step towards raising the price of the iPhone 17.
The current iPhone 16 series has 6.1 ” diagonal, the iPhone 16 Pro has 6.3 ”, the iPhone 16 Plus offers 6.7 ”, and the iPhone Pro Max boasts a 6.9 ” display.
If the aforementioned changes to the iPhone 17 are a reality, then it and the iPhone 17 Pro will enter the market the same size of the display, while the alleged iPhone 16 Air should appear with a 6.6 ” panel. Changes to the Pro Max version, at least for now, are not expected.
