Apple’s new “home device” will probably only come next year

Apple’s new “home device” is probably moved to the coming year-just like the smarter Siri with various new functions. According to the Financial news agency Bloomberg Apple tried to move the new hardware to a period in autumn, for example to the release of the new iPhones. But that probably doesn’t work, Apple is now considering a delay until 2026.

Apple intends to launch a new control center for Homekit homes, which should be a kind of small iPad. It is conceivable that she can be combined with a Homepod speaker via dock-or that it receives a screen itself. It is clear that the device is less on apps – an app store is said to be not planned – than should have rely on Siri. Apple actually wanted to make the voice assistant fit for the future with iOS 18.4 or 18.5: with context -sensitive actions, knowledge of the respective person and the control of apps including reading out the screen.

But although Apple had already advertised parts of the functions – even on television – it was shown that it was a problem at the implementation. In the meantime, the group says that the new Siri will be launched in one year. What this means exactly is unclear. Apple is said to have rebuilt its AI department, Siri has a different suspension with a new boss. It remains to be seen whether this will help, because Siri has known to have been a nuisance for years.

The tests of the device with the code name J490 continue to run in the Apple center. Numerous employees also tried it out at home, according to the report. At Apple, the idea should have been that J490 will only be the beginning of a whole new series-with AI personality, new sensors and maybe even a robot arm that organizes the screen.

Interestingly, Apple himself had such a research project at the start, even with a video. Until it is time, it will be a further away. Now Siri would have to be dismantled. Observers do not agree whether the Apple really works. Siri will be 15 years old in the coming year and always only shows slow improvements.
